Another day with a smile!

Hi world!

Recently, while I was revising my cover letter
( Korean c.v. is so much different from the state that I have to describe my personality.....
little bit weird but they DO request to write how you overcame your weakness),
I have asked my friends, "what kind of things does it remind of me?"
The reason why I have asked is because, I felt like there can be another me
that I have never known, but others might have seen.
Sometimes.....I mean really sometimes,
other people might know you better than what you think you know yourself.

One of my friends answered, "Green! because,
you are very active person and there is so much of possibility to grow cause you're young.."
She always says that "youthfulness" can be a powerful strength when you
try to extend yourself. I agree.

I have created my own logo.. to be more precise, "revised." It all includes my initial :)
I have chosen turquoise color, which nearly matches with my personality.

Two contradicting faces of ajummas I have met in a subway while I was heading home.
A face really tells what you are thinking... and I get a little idea of
how they have lived in the past. Not in detail, but just a glimpse, such as
a person who's always grumpy or a person who is very bubbly.

Amazing textile

Hi!
I am officially now seeking another job, where I can research and analyze the next trend
or design print and pattern. If you know any of the position I described above is available,
please contact me ;^) many  thanks!

I found this Korean pouch design from a website. Of course, all hand-made.
I've been seriously considering to become the one who continues the legacy of Korean
traditional art like the above. I think the color and the jewelry are perfectly
matching, complimenting one another.

source: unfortunately, I forgot where it's from.. it started from
http://www.kidp.or.kr/kmain/
but don't know the rest of the address.

It soothes me whenever I see these kind of textile design.

Things in Seoul, Korea.

Hi!
It's 3rd week of January in 2013~
I found out that there is size "SHORT" in Seoul.
It was interesting to see two different cultures where there's always a "super-size-me"
culture in America, whereas "shorten-size-me & cute" culture in Korea.

Venti - Grande - Tall - "Short" sizes provided by Starbucks.
oh! Does U.S. also have a "Starbucks' New year Diary"?

Got this present from my co-workers! :-)
The cup is from MMMG and the scarf underneath is from a vintage store in Shinsa dong.
Lots of treasured vintage shops in Shinsa, Garo soo gil.
Go check it out!

Recession Dec. 2010 in NY

 HAPPY NEW YEAR of 2 0 1 3!

I have tendency to dig old albums that I have been taking and post up a year later...haha;;
It has been almost 9 months now, since I have moved to Korea.
It was perfectly God's plan thatI studied in America and coming to Korea.
I could see now that He was preparing ahead of me while He allowed 6 months of prayer... ;^)

Well, I didn't want to post up sad story,
but wanted to post it anyways to remind me and you how bad the economy was
(just because I found the pictures below).
I remember double-recession a year ago in New York City. I could feel it to my skin,
and here in Korea it's affected by American economy as well.

BUT! everyone's living with their best ! :)
So, it's a good sign.

Psy-Gangnam Style

It was definitely a year for Psy, who sang "Oppan Gangnam Style".
I actually searched and Gangnam Style ranked 2nd from Google's most searched engine in 2012.
Roking magazine has published the issue 6 in November and
I am so glad that I got to illustrate Psy along with the article of highs and lows
(written by Jung-Yoon Choi).

As 2012 is folding and year of 2013 is opening up a new chapter,
hopefully we can all be a specialty at one thing and inspire others :]

Dogs in Manhattan

Hi guys,
It's been awhile ever since I wrote the last article.

I have moved to Korea on March, 2012
and there were lot of things going on my life, but I would like to
keep up in sharing fun, inspired stories.

Now, I am working at ROKING, a Korean culture
promoting company. I will share more of about my company later,
but I just wanted to share these dogs that I saw before I left the state.
It was so fun to watch,, cause they were literally shivering maybe because
there are not used to tied on the street and wait for the owner to come.
I thought the dog's eyeballs were almost popped out of the his face.
